AANIIDCO is engaged in the business of production and marketing of milk and milk products since May 1991 after it was transferred to the Corporation by the Animal Husbandry Department. The product range includes toned milk, Double Toned Milk, Cow Milk, paneer, curd, butter milk, Yogurts, Flavoured Milk and Sweet lassi. Milk is produced using fresh milk procured from about 500 farmers of South Andaman and North & Middle Andaman villages and whole milk powder purchased from NCDFI e-auction. The Corporation has renovated and upgraded the milk plant through M/s Indian Dairy Machinery Company Ltd (IDMC) wholly owned subsidiary of National Dairy Development Board (NDDB). After renovation and up gradation, the milk processing capacity has increased from 5,000 ltrs. per day to 8,000 ltrs. per day.
The Corporation has setup Milk Chilling Centre at Subhashgram and Nabagram at Diglipur, Tugapur and Mohanpur at Mayabunder and Dharmapur, Rangat Bazaar and Kadamtala at Rangat and Shaheed Dweep of capacity 2000 Ltrs, 1000 ltrs, 1000 Ltrs, 500 Ltrs, 1000 Ltrs, 1000 Ltrs 500 Ltrs and 1000 Ltrs respectively benefitting the farmers of North and Middle Andaman. The Corporation is also collecting milk from the farmers of Shaheed Dweep.
The Andaman & Nicobar Islands Integrated Development Corporation (ANIIDCO) collects raw milk from around 600 farmers in South Andaman and North & Middle Andaman. The milk is processed into a wide range of products and marketed locally at Sri Vijaya Puram.
ANIIDCO took over a 5000 LPD (litres per day) Milk Plant from the Department of Animal Husbandry in May 1991. The plant was upgraded in 2011, increasing its capacity to 8000 LPD.
To maintain freshness and quality, ANIIDCO has
established
milk chilling centres at: Kadamtala, Rangat, Dharmapur, Mohanpur,
Tugapur,
Nabagram, Subashgram, and Shaheed Dweep.
